The Right Energy Partnership with Indigenous Peoples (REP) invites partners, allies, and friends to the fourth episode of the Indigenous Peoples Renewable Energy Pathfinders (IPREP) Webinar series.
This episode, titled “Energizing Off-Grid Communities through Renewable Energy: How RUCOSUO Lights Up Tanzania’s Rural Communities,” will feature the Rural Community Support Organization (RUCOSUO), a grassroots organization based in Simanjiro District, Manyara Region, Tanzania.
RUCOSUO works with rural communities to promote practical solar energy solutions as a pathway to sustainable development, local skills-building, and community self-reliance. Their work has included solarizing community spaces, supporting energy access in schools and health-related facilities, and placing women and youth at the forefront of renewable energy action.
Through this session, participants will learn from RUCOSUO’s experience in advancing community-based renewable energy in Tanzania’s rural and off-grid communities. The discussion will highlight how locally rooted renewable energy initiatives can respond to community needs while contributing to resilience, livelihoods, and inclusive energy transitions.
The IPREP series continues to create space for Indigenous Peoples and local communities to share practical experiences, challenges, and lessons in advancing community-led renewable energy solutions.
Join us on the 30th June from 3PM Eastern Africa Time (8PM Manila, 8AM New York) as we learn how RUCOSUO is supporting rural communities in Tanzania to access renewable energy solutions that strengthen local capacity, self-reliance, and sustainable development.
