The Right Energy Partnership with Indigenous Peoples (REP) is proud to join leaders, human rights defenders, and communities at the 6th UN Responsible Business and Human Rights Forum (UN RBHR Forum), happening from 16–19 September 2025 in Bangkok and online.
This year’s theme — “Anchoring Progress and Strengthening Regional Leadership on Human Rights through Crisis” — comes at a critical time when Indigenous Peoples across the world are at the front-line of both the climate crisis and the global energy transition.
REP will bring Indigenous perspectives to the center of discussions on just transitions, accountability, and remedy. Our sessions will cover:
- Pathways to a just energy transition that respect Indigenous self-determination
- Strengthening accountability in certification, audit schemes, and supply chains
- Defending rights and civic space, ensuring communities and defenders can speak out without fear
- Safeguarding human rights as the world moves toward renewable energy
From panel discussions at the UN Conference Centre to co-organized side events with partners, REP will continue to advocate for energy solutions that are inclusive, just, and community-led.

Energy transitions are not only about technology or infrastructure — they are about people, rights, and dignity. Indigenous Peoples hold knowledge and solutions essential for building sustainable futures, yet they are too often left out of decision-making.
By joining this Forum, REP reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that Indigenous Peoples are not only participants, but leaders, in shaping the pathways to a fair and equitable energy future.
